This is my first photoshoot, what should I know?
When selecting a time slot, consider the lighting. If shooting outside, the best light always starts 2 hours before sunset. Morning light can work, but I will be looking for shade in the chosen location. Noon and midday lighting is not desireable. Of course if we are shooting with in-studio lighting, this does not apply. I will go over any last-minute details with you the day before. Otherwise relax-it will be an enjoyable experience as you're in good hands!
Our shoot is outside. What if it rains?
I will be checking the forecast leading up to our session and contact you if I believe the rain (or even wind) will be an issue and we must reschedule. An overcast sky actually makes for great pictures, unless the look you are going for is sunny.
What should I wear?
First decide if you want a casual or more dressy look. In general, steer clear of busy patterns, logos, or large graphics. Solid colors usually work best. For group or family photos, coordinate, but don’t match. Think in terms of a color palette.
We do a lot of location changing if outside, so comfortable shoes are a must. If you want the shot in heels, bring those to change into on the spot.
What is your turnaround time to receive the images?
The link to your fully edited and thoughtfully curated gallery will be sent within two weeks after your session date. You will then be able to place print orders at this time.
How many rounds of edits will I receive?
This is on a case by case basis. The only rounds of revisions apply to Business Branding Projects (this includes headshots). Addition rounds of edits can be purchased for all projects.
I have to meet a yearbook deadline, how much notice do you need?
A typical project takes up to two weeks for editing and then a day or so for approval and revisions if necessary. I charge a rush fee if booked later. When it comes to deadlines, the sooner the better. If for some reason you are in a situation you know it will be late, ask the yearbook staff if they can be flexible on your submission.
